Handling Procedures

General

Handling Procedures

  • Store elements dry at room temperature (7.0–32.0°C; 40.0–95.0°F), avoiding direct sunlight.
  • Elements should remain immersed in a preservative solution during storage, shipping, and system shutdowns to prevent biological growth and freezing. A 1.0% solution of sodium bisulfite or sodium metabisulfite (food grade) is used for short-term storage.
  • Always keep the elements moist after their initial wetting.
  • Avoid sudden pressure and flow spikes.
  • Use only chemicals compatible with membrane elements and components, as incompatible chemicals may void the element’s warranty.
  • Ensure permeate pressure is always equal to or lower than feed/concentrate pressure, as back pressure can damage the element and void the warranty.

* Permeate pressure must always be equal to or less than the feed /concentrate pressure. Back pressure damage will void the limited warranty.
